Slate CRM Integrations transform UMass System, Implementation & Renewal

Track: Customer Relationship Management (CRM)

Session Number: 10697
Date: Tue, Mar 5th, 2024
Time: 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM

Description:

In 2021, the University of Massachusetts System (UMass) selected Slate software to address system-wide modernization of its recruiting and admissions functions at three separate campuses. The new UMass student recruiting and admissions initiatives are comprehensive and include multiple careers (undergraduate, graduate/professional, pre-college and non-degree students) and a broad range of application platforms and services channeled into a single instance of Oracle Campus Solutions. University Information Technology Services (UITS) at the University of Massachusetts (UMass) provides centralized support for state system multi-campus use of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions for Boston, Dartmouth, and Lowell. Because UMass campuses use different business practices at the local level, UMass Admissions partners had to work closely with UITS to balance the need to maintain campus independence while implementing Slate for each campus in separate environments.

In addition to the multi-campus Slate implementation project, UITS provided assistance to the University of Massachusetts Amherst Undergraduate Admissions & Graduate Studies with Slate/Campus Solutions integrations. UMass Amherst Undergraduate Admissions reexamined their business processes and Slate/Oracle Campus Solutions integrations deployed in 2017, seeking improvements in operations after four admission cycles. New improved integrations are currently active to support Undergraduate Admissions. Graduate Admissions at Amherst was the final UMass Slate project to go-live in Summer 2023.

Designing and implementing the essential infrastructure to support the enrollment of new students as Slate was adopted was mission critical. Establishing efficient tools and centralized processes for the Slate, Common Application & CAS by Liaison was important along with along with the successful display of Financial Aid and transfer credit for new students. Crucial ingredients of UMass's success for these initiatives included engaging the appropriate functional and technical resources and conducting a critical review of existing business processes, configuration, and integration tools.

Join the presenters to learn the details of these projects, the lessons learned, and how you may be able to use certain aspects of our experience at your institution. We will reserve time for questions and open discussion.
