Sustainability at Scale-Preparing for Continuous Innovation

Track: Project and Change Management (PCM)

Session Number: 10618
Date: Tue, Mar 5th, 2024
Time: 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Description:

With most system implementations, there is tremendous (and deserved) fanfare surrounding the go live. Announcements, celebrations, and accolades surround this critical milestone. The challenge is that for so many, this is perceived as an end. The implementation team is done and making plans to move on, training and documentation have been provided, and the stakeholders on the project team are returning to focus on primary responsibilities. One of the most common blind spots in system implementations is the transition from development to sustainment, a phenomenon we call Fear of Go Live (FOGL for short). While much attention is focused on delivering a successful implementation, considerations about the operability of the system in the future typically occur too late in the project, and what emphasis there is focuses on ensuring system configuration.

Hear from the University of Southern California, Vanderbilt University, and Huron about rethinking traditional approach and a model for innovation and continuous improvement; ensure smoother transitions across project phases and streamline your implementation (regardless of the technology) to be sustainable for the long-term.
