The Los Rios Community College District is one of the nation’s most respected learning institutions and the second-largest community college district in California, serving the greater Sacramento region. We have four colleges, six education centers, and specialized workforce and economic development programs for local businesses, governments, and organizations.
The team at Los Rios had one goal in mind coming out of COVID times, Total Transformation and Automation of all Business Processes in their Peoplesoft HCM, Finance, and Student. They jumped in, asked for help from consultants, and got to work. Their user base provided a list of 100+ forms that they were looking to automate very quickly. This session will cover some of the tough lessons that they have learned along the way and end by showing off the result of their efforts. We will cover:
Identifying the right people in planning, design and UAT
Identifying internal business processes that become a barrier to success
The need for rapid and frequent migrations
Identifying a Business Process Improvement Advisory Board
Building a team for ongoing support
Their user base provided a list of 100+ forms that they were looking to automate very quickly. This session will cover some of the tough lessons that they have learned along the way and end by showing off the result of their efforts.

Systems include (but may not be limited to) Peoplesoft, Starfish, Cornerstone, Boomi, GTE and Onbase, and add-ons/integration to/with each of the aforementioned systems. David is new to the Academy for Human Resource Development, and is currently pursuing his Ph.D in Technology Management though Indiana State University.
