Higher Education Challenge: Remote learning environments and managing multi-state workforce compliance

Track: Exhibitor

Session Number: 9986
Date: Tue, Feb 28th, 2023
Time: 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM

Description:

The global pandemic created a sudden and massive uptick in remote learning as professors and students took to instruction via virtual meetings instead of physical classrooms. Higher education institutions now must grapple with compliance and mitigating the risk of penalties in trying to account for and manage hybrid and remote faculty and workers across many states.
At the same time, payroll teams are functioning with leaner staffs and fewer candidates, with over 51,000 open payroll positions and an aging payroll employee population.
This session will address ways to deal with this crisis so you can remain in compliance and avoid steep penalties, no matter where your employees are working.
In this session we will address:
• The impact of a remote/hybrid workforce on compliance
• How to proactively reduce compliance risks
• How offloading burdensome compliance administrative tasks can benefit a lean payroll team
