UP's new Work Integrated Learning system makes student teacher placement in schools child's play

Track: Student Information System (SIS)

Session Number: 9663
Date: Wed, Mar 1st, 2023
Time: 12:45 PM - 1:15 PM

Description:

University of Pretoria, South Africa, has rolled out a comprehensive system for the Faculty of Education which manages the entire process around student teacher placements in local schools to fulfil practical teaching requirements. Some robust configuration manages whom can apply for placement at a school and when. When bookings are open, the appropriate students are then able to book their place at the school of their choice (space dependent). Assessments are loaded after the practical has completed - by the school principal and mentor teachers - assessing all aspects of the student's performance. The new Work Integrated Learning system manages this process end-to-end, greatly enhancing both the student, faculty and school's experience.
