The University of Pretoria in South Africa has taken the bold step to launch a number of fully online accredited programmes through its UPOnline initiative. The fully online teaching model is vastly different from the University’s traditional offering, in terms of intake and academic session frequency, academic throughput and financial flexibility. UP had to quickly develop processes and systems to support this disruptive approach. Despite all these differences, one thing remains the same.  Students will have a fully-fledged accredited academic qualification from the University of Pretoria behind their name. And UP is now better placed to meet future challenges head on, offering a more diverse bouquet whereby students can achieve their academic goals.
