Before Fluid components were introduced, application developers were spoiled by how little the development efforts were needed in terms of building the classic component search page, where the system uses built-in logic to create it on the fly based on the search keys defined on the search record for the component. However, in the fluid user interface, the real-time component search page is not populated automatically by the system. Instead, the application developer must create a pivot grid and design additional query-level security. This presentation aims to provide as many details as possible to encourage users to develop and use such a modern-look feature of the Fluid Component Real-Time search.

The first part of the presentation is to walk through the development cycle of setting up a Real-Time Search for Fluid Components. We will overview the component properties, and then we will create a Pivot Grid model associated with the component through Pivot Grid Wizard, and finally we will review the query automatically created by the Pivot Grid behind the scenes as the actual search data source, before checking the result of component real-time search.

The second part of the presentation is to fine-tune the search and enhance with different approaches. We will discuss the following:

Adding prompts to search fields
Expand/Hide search fields on the initial state
Search operations
Filter/Facets
Columns only in result displaying not in used by the search
Customized the default search page
