Brigham Young University is transitioning to a new Cloud HR and Finance system at the same time. 2023 is the second year of a three year endeavor. The first part of this series will cover lessons learned from year one, our foundation year. Activities from the first year included forming the governance structure supported by several functional teams with responsibilities for objectives & outcomes, identifying associated strategic processes that touch ERP data, establishing the plan for modernizing hundreds of integrations, becoming familiar with Workday Extend, transferring data from PeopleSoft to Workday, and creating a cataloging of reports. In the second part of this series we will share how we are organizing the work in Azure DevOps, tracking journeys in D365 CRM, what caught us by surprise and what has gone according to plan.
