Accessibility in Higher Education/Section 508 and ADA Compliance

Track: Leading Change

Session Number: 9649
Date: Tue, Feb 28th, 2023
Time: 2:30 PM - 3:30 PM

Description:

Consumer expectations for digital accessibility continue to rise as technology becomes more integral to our lives. Laws and regulations, like Section 508 and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), protect the rights of individuals in both public and private sectors to have equal opportunities and equal access to information. With almost 2,900 ADA Title III website accessibility lawsuits filed in Federal Court in 2021, organizations that violate these laws risk litigation.
What can you do as an institution to improve and expand access to information for your students and employees, and help mitigate your potential liability? Join us as we discuss Accessibility in Higher Education and the actions you can take to improve and expand digital accessibility at your institution.
