W-4s the Smart Way! (Without the PDF)

Track: Human Capital Management (HCM)

Session Number: 9708
Date: Tue, Feb 28th, 2023
Time: 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM

Description:

The University of Missouri System was facing the same problem many others are facing when it comes to accurately collecting and reporting W-4 information for all 50 states. The increase of remote work has made the need to expand state and local tax reporting more and more important. By implementing SmartTax and WorkSync, the University is now collecting and reporting state taxes for all 50 states for all their 35,000 active employees. This session will review the process and implementation of SmartTax and Work Sync which empowered employees and the University to streamline their home and work address collection for state and local tax reporting.

Tell us about you!: I have been a member of the University of Missouri team for the past 15 years working in various positions related to payroll. I am currently working as the Payroll Functional Lead in the HRIS Department while assisting our other Functional Leads with the Time and Labor and Leave modules. I have led the training sessions to our Campus groups on the Time and Labor and Payroll processes when we implemented Time and Labor as a University. Prior to joining the University of Missouri, I would present company updates to groups of agents during our annual meetings.
