Concordia University End-User Training Strategies on People Soft. Finding the Best Approach to Ease the Training Journey

Track: Project and Change Management (PCM)

Session Number: 9817
Date: Tue, Feb 28th, 2023
Time: 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM

Description:

Training and Instructional Design is more than just developing step by step instructions. There are multiple factors that trainers need to take into account to provide relevant and timely information to end-users. The training team at Concordia University was assigned the important task of the development and implementation for the People Soft – Campus Solution training. As trainers, we asked ourselves:
-- What training needs we must target?
-- What resources and tools are available?
-- How can we create training materials for a high number of users who have different training needs, and different learning styles?
-- How can we ensure that training materials are sustainable?

In this session, we will explore how the Concordia SIS Training team has evolved to adapt the training strategies to the constantly changing training needs. Some of the biggest challenges the team has faced include the UPK Developer End of Life Support, which was the main development tool used by the team.

Join us to explore the key training strategies that Concordia University’s training team has developed and implemented to assist end-users. We will share with you some of the lessons learned, the challenges that we have encountered as trainers, and how we have adapted our training strategies during the pandemic while changing our main training tool.
