Agenda
Sharing is Caring: Shared Services & PeopleSoft Implementations
Track: Human Capital Management (HCM)
Session Number: 9786
Date: Tue, Feb 28th, 2023
Time: 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM
Description:
When a shared services model is applied to 7 unique universities under 2 PeopleSoft instances, standard use of delivered modules is sometimes difficult, if not impossible. We've come up with clever solutions and have a treasure trove of lessons learned and customizations that just make sense. And now that we’ve stabilized our systems and been up and running for the past 8+ years, we'll discuss things like balancing business procedure with PeopleSoft functionality but also explore topics like how governance models can streamline or impede moving forward from the perspective of the Business Analyst. This panel discussion will offer our lessons learned and experiences from the trenches from the perspective of the HCM Business Analyst. Discussion Topics could include the following: How do we address system gaps or data constraints in relation to unique higher education business requirements under one PS instance. How the support & training of PeopleSoft differs from the support of an organization’s business procedure. How do we align campus department structure (Administrator with Back Offices) with PeopleSoft structure (Manager facing). How does the shared service governance model impact PeopleSoft HCM. How has the role of the Business Analyst changed over the years with a maturing Shared Services model. Customizations we love and hate. Lesson learned.
