Oracle Student Management. How different is it really from Campus Solutions?

Track: Student Information System (SIS)

Session Number: 9600
Date: Tue, Feb 28th, 2023
Time: 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM

Description:

Currently, UW-Madison is using Oracle Student Management for our Summer Precollege Programs. In years past we have shown demos of the product through the lens of a Student and Admissions Manager.  This year, we will take a different approach by showing some of the behind the scenes configuration (Terms, Rosters, Academic Structure, Program/Course Setup and Data Security). We will discuss how different it really is from Campus Solutions. We will also touch on how Oracle Student release planning differs from PUM planning.

Tell us about you!: I am a PeopleSoft professional with over 13 years of experience working in Higher Education. As a PeopleSoft developer, I worked with functional users to implement such PeopleTools features as Integration Broker web services, Communication Generation, Data Migration Workbench, Notification Framework, Connected Query, BI Publisher, PeopleSoft Test Framework, Activity Guides and Work Centers.

As a PeopleSoft Administrator, I was responsible for administering PeopleSoft Campus Solutions environments for several campuses. I worked with PUM and DPKs to perform PeopleTools Upgrades and applied server patches for Oracle Critical Patch Updates (CPUs) I worked with software developers across multiple campuses and resolved many complex, technical issues. Stood up new PeopleSoft environments and resolved issues with integrations into and out of PeopleSoft.

In my current role as the Student Cloud Administrator, I am working on an initiative with Continuing Ed to implement the Student Management Student Cloud product. The University of Wisconsin-Madison is an Early Adopter of the product and we are working with Oracle, along with our Implementation partner, to help design the product.
