Agenda

Implement ISO 20022 and Enhance the AP Payment Process

Track: Finance

Session Number: 9685
Date: Mon, Feb 27th, 2023
Time: 2:30 PM - 3:30 PM

Description:

The University of Texas System implemented the ISO 20022 payment file specification for AP payments to enhance options for electronic payments through the Financial Gateway. This project included ACH, outsourced checks, SUA (single use account), and real-time payments. Additionally, bank acknowledgement and exception interface files were incorporated to provide a centralized way to report on file and payment status. Automatic reconciliation rules were customized to auto-reconcile all payment types. A custom App Engine was created to automate the un-reconciliation of payment exceptions reported via the bank exception file allowing ACH payments to be actioned in AP as either a cancel or void. This project enabled our payment teams to seamlessly integrate more payment methods into the standard AP paycycle payment process and improved the overall efficiency of the payment process.
