Agenda
Repaving MaineStreet - The Road to the Future
Track: Exhibitor
Session Number: 9921
Date: Mon, Feb 27th, 2023
Time: 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Description:
The University of Maine System (UMS) went live on PeopleSoft Campus Solutions in 2004, setting up seven institutions within one instance. Each university has functioned largely independently since that time, using some shared functionality but also much that was/is unique.
The New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE) granted unified accreditation to the University of Maine System in July 2020. This accreditation recognizes the current seven universities and the Maine Law School as one institution.
How does UMS tackle this seeming contradiction? With gusto and fervor, of course!! UMS has embarked upon a multi-year project called Repaving MaineStreet, to accomplish the following goals:
1. Implement Oracle Cloud HCM
2. Implement Oracle Cloud ERP
3. RE-Implement PeopleSoft Campus Solutions 9.2
Using Unified Accreditation as a guiding light, UMS, along with partner ERPA, is undertaking a massive review of existing customizations, delivered functionality that hasn’t been adopted and business process differences between the universities.
· How can the experience be better for students, faculty, staff?
· Can using MaineStreet be more seamless for students applying to, attending more than one university?
· What delivered functionality can solve pain points that have long existed?
· What business processes can be adapted for use at some/all universities?
· What can be decustomized?
· How can Campus Solutions 9.2 be used to its full capability at all the universities?
Join us to learn how UMS planned such a bold project and how it’s getting off the ground!
