Repackaging: Adjusting Everything but Loans - The Ups and Downs

Track: Student Information System (SIS)

Session Number: 9722
Date: Mon, Feb 27th, 2023
Time: 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM

Description:

The purpose of this presentation is to review the implementation of an automated repackaging process for enrollment-based adjustments which typically occurs after the add/drop period. Prior to this implementation, our office did this work entirely by hand.  We sought to automate this operation using the delivered repackaging process, but wished to incorporate every item type that is currently in our various packaging plans (ultimately accounting for 70+ different item types!).  This presentation will review our various designs (as changes were required throughout the process), the structure of the repackaging plans, and the additional elements which we had to account for at different stages throughout the process (storing the units of the last repackaging run, storing the original value of supplemental grant, etc).  Our discussion will include the things that worked, the things that did not, and the next phase in our repackaging journey.
