Agenda
Changes are coming: Did you remember to talk to your users?
Track: Project and Change Management (PCM)
Session Number: 9850
Date: Mon, Feb 27th, 2023
Time: 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM
Description:
The only thing that is constant is change, and change can be hard. Leveraging users' feedback gives insight not only into what users are thinking about the proposed plan, but what risks may pop-up along the way.
Our teams work hard to ensure the technical pieces are in place, but sometimes the people side of change can be even more challenging to ensure adoption. FSU|ITS uses outreach and user feedback to measure readiness and share awareness about upcoming changes for students, faculty, and staff. Learn what tools are necessary for your next project to be on the path toward success.
Long Description:
To make meaningful change, FSU Information Technology Services uses a combination of outreach efforts and user feedback sessions to get a pulse on how users feel about upcoming changes to our systems and how to best mitigate concerns and ensure adoption. The success of change efforts involves giving our users a voice on their experiences across the applications and services.
User feedback identifies the successes, risks and concerns surrounding the process; and how we can help users achieve success through these changes. Working together with our technical teams, project managers, campus partners, sponsors, and stakeholders, we can inform our team what our users need and want. As a result, we deliver improved applications with the users’ experience in mind, ensuring higher adoption and a better investment in our resources.
A variety of change management tools and strategies can be used to assist in the creation of training and coaching guidelines such as job aids, instructional and promotional videos, tips & tricks, FAQs, and marketing strategies to communicate a targeted message to the impacted stakeholders and inform the greater campus community.
