Admissions CRM integration on the Cheap - how to use delivered processes and creativity to integrate

Track: Student Information System (SIS)

Session Number: 9621
Date: Mon, Feb 27th, 2023
Time: 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM

Description:

Without funds for hiring a consultant to build fancy web services real-time integrations, we developed some file parser and SQL integrations between Slate and PeopleSoft. We can push not only applications and application updates, but residency, educational data from transcripts, student groups, and other important stuff from Slate to PeopleSoft.  We do not use web services. We do use python scripting and some SQL, but have purchased nothing.  Come to the presentation to find out how. We will go through a step-by-step decision process to help you determine what questions to ask before you integrate to determine the best strategy. If time allows, we will open this to an open-sharing session so that others may ask questions or share their integration experiences.  You don't need to be using Slate to get valuable information. Integration is an issue for anyone using a CRM in Admissions. This will pertain to integration with PeopleSoft, however. This session will be designed for persons with intermediate knowledge of processes in PeopleSoft.  You do not need to know python scripting, but a working knowledge of File Parser setup would be helpful.  For those with less technical skills, we will share what you need to know to find persons in your institution who can help. At the end of this presentation, you should have a way to identify what you need, and even complete some basic integrations.

This session is part of the Integrations Pathway.
