Tell us about you!: I am a double-alumni from Northern Illinois University and have worked in the Registrar's office since 1996 (with a 6+ year gap). I was thrust into the world of academic advising in the midst of a Gen Ed rehaul (in 2014), with a month to complete, when our ARR specialist left the university. I was at the time the student records query expert and had to shift focus for the Gen Ed project.

My role has changed at my institution but our recent ARR specialist has also left employment, adding academic requirements back into my repertoire. I have presented on query, enrollment requirements, and academic requirements and enjoy every minute of it!
