How to Speak PeopleTools – Technical Topics for Functional Analysts **FEE REQUIRED**
Track: Workshops
Session Number: 9790
Date: Sun, Feb 26th, 2023
Time: 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM
Description:
Many business analysts working in Oracle/PeopleSoft environments come from non-technical backgrounds. They gained expertise with the functional ‘front-end’ aspects of their systems, and excelled in those areas. But many have limited experience with the Tools that power PeopleSoft, and might have limited exposure the technical side of PeopleSoft. This presentation is designed to provide an introduction to some of these technologies to functional business analysts. Attendees will be introduced to a variety of PeopleTools, and provided explanations of what each tool is, how it is used, and what a functional analyst should be aware of when reviewing the codeline. Tools and technologies reviewed will include Application Designer, Data Mover, SQR and COBOL. This session will be designed for functional analysts, and not for PeopleSoft developers. Explanations will be geared toward those who operate in the hybrid functional/technical world that many analysts work in, and will be designed to empower those individuals in their day-to-day work. This presentation could either be conducted as a workshop, as a one hour session or as a series of one hour sessions. (If this is selected as a one-hour presentation, it will have to be significantly reduced in scope.) I believe this presentation could be lengthened out to a Workshop, or made into a set of presentations that could include PeopleTools, User-facing tools, Fluid topics, as well as other Tips and Tricks.
