If you've used Equation Engine, you've probably used it for packaging or tuition calc. But did you know that you can use it to update tables? In fact, it's the only way to update CAF variables with different values for each student. We'll talk about how you can do these updates, and when you should (and shouldn't) do it! You can also use it for running a population selection in many places, and we'll go over how and why you might want to do that.

Many business analysts working in Oracle/PeopleSoft environments come from non-technical backgrounds. They gained expertise with the functional ‘front-end’ aspects of their systems, and excelled in those areas. But many have limited experience with the Tools that power PeopleSoft, and might have limited exposure the technical side of PeopleSoft.
This presentation is designed to provide an introduction to some of these technologies to functional business analysts. Attendees will be introduced to a variety of PeopleTools, and provided explanations of what each tool is, how it is used, and what a functional analyst should be aware of when reviewing the codeline. Tools and technologies reviewed will include Application Designer, Data Mover, SQR and COBOL.
Learning Objectives:
- Find basic objects in Application Designer.
- Participants will be able to describe various types of PeopleSoft objects, what they are used for, and when their use is appropriate.
- Understand the different events that can trigger PeopleCode, and will be able to analyze simple PeopleCode statements.

This session will provide an in-depth review of the components used in building Academic Requirements within the PeopleSoft student information system. We will review course lists, dynamic conditions, entity groups, student groups in advising, tests in advising, derived course list types, academic requirements, requirement line types, requirement parameters, pre-conditions, other things requirement-related, and requirement groups, just to name a few. Time permitting, a live demo will be performed.

- Learn how to take institutional catalog requirements and turn them into coded academic requirements.

Extending and Customizing PeopleSoft Activity Guides using AG Composer Framework

This workshop introduces participants to the concepts required to implement and use Activity Guides in PeopleSoft application. This course is applicable to HCM, FSCM and Campus Solutions Functional and Technical users. Attendees will learn about the foundational elements of Activity Guide Composer framework. Hands-on activities in this workshop will take the trainees thru the process of designing and creating a new activity guides, configuring guided templates, deploying it to end users, administering the deployed guides, managing its security and migrating them. On completion of this training, attendees will be able to review and update the Oracle delivered Activity Guides and create new Activity Guides to meet their custom business requirements.

All you need to bring is a laptop, and we will walk through the process of standing up a Peoplesoft demo environment, deploy Peoplesoft Digital Assistant Skills, and configure Peoplesoft and Digital Assistant to surface the ChatBot within the Peoplesoft user interface.
