Professional Experience
Josh joined Vanderbilt in 2016 as a member of the Transition Management Office of Information Technology following Vanderbilt University's separation from its academic medical center. Josh led the business process redesign work stream during Vanderbilt's overhaul of its legacy financial, HR, grants and procurement systems. Since going live on Oracle Cloud (ERP, HCM, PPM, P2P), he also led additional service expansions and implementations of Oracle Learn, Oracle Recruiting, and HR Help Desk. He has led Vanderbilt's Office of Continuous Improvement and Enterprise Applications Teams, responsible for technology projects and transformation, organizational change management, and continuous delivery / continuous improvement for enterprise applications, including Oracle Cloud and SalesForce.
Josh currently leads the University's teams of Database Administrators, Data Engineers, and Data Architects and supports operational/transactional reporting needs, and manages and supports the university's investments in Oracle Analytics Cloud, Tableau, PowerBI, and both an Oracle RDBMS data warehouse and the Snowflake Data Cloud.
Prior to joining Vanderbilt, Josh was an attorney and served as a corporate HR leader in a multinational automotive manufacturing company. He has focused his professional endeavors on business turnarounds in small, medium, and large for-profit private businesses prior to joining Vanderbilt University. He holds a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Memphis and a Juris Doctorate from Southern Methodist University. He has been published in the Texas Tech Law Review (contract law) and in the American Bar Association's Section for Intellectual Property Law magazine (patent malpractice).
