Volunteer Opportunities


The Alliance Conference Committee invites you to be a part of the team that makes this annual conference a great event for everyone. We are looking for volunteers to help during the conference as time allows. The time commitment varies for each position and you are welcome to sign up for more than one position and/or time slot based on your interest and experience. All volunteers will wear a special button that identifies you as an Alliance Conference volunteer. This is a wonderful opportunity for Alliance attendees, new and experienced, to get more involved in the HEUG. Volunteering is a great way to network while getting a behind-the-scenes look at the conference. Volunteering is open to Alliance conference attendees only. The Conference Team will make sure you have all the information you need to handle your assigned tasks. 

Volunteer Descriptions


Help Desk – Help attendees find their way around the meeting space. You may also be asked to direct attendees to events, sessions, etc. You will receive maps and a binder with conference information. You may be standing for the majority of your shift. Please be ready to assist any attendees who have mobility issues and/or appear to need help. 

HEUG Booth – Assist at the HEUG booth by answering attendee questions about the HEUG or the Alliance conference. You may also be asked to direct attendees to events, sessions, etc. You will receive maps and a binder with information. You may be standing for the majority of your shift.

Directional Signage – Assist with directing attendees to sessions, events, etc. You will be standing for the majority of your shift.

Stop and Share Registration Board – Assist with Stop and Share by posting topics, assigning topics to tables, etc.

Stop and Share Session Monitor – Assist with Stop and Share session logistics (attendance, distributing drawing entry forms, ribbons, space management) and registration board assistance.

Technical/Security Track Session Monitor – Help the Technical and Security Track monitor sessions by assisting speakers (introduce if desired), counting session attendance, reaching out to the Track Chair of any significant issues with the room or AV.

Cloud Track Session Monitor – Help the Cloud Track monitor sessions by assisting speakers (introduce if desired), counting session attendance, reaching out to the Track Chair of any significant issues with the room or AV.

Innovations Track Session Monitor – Help the Innovations Track monitor sessions by assisting speakers (introduce if desired), counting session attendance, reaching out to the Track Chair of any significant issues with the room or AV.

New Products Track Session Monitor – Help the New Products Track monitor sessions by assisting speakers (introduce if desired), counting session attendance, reaching out to the Track Chair of any significant issues with the room or AV.

Expectations of a Volunteer
Volunteers are the face of the Alliance Conference. As such, volunteers are expected to be punctual, respectful and helpful during your shifts. Volunteers should become knowledgeable on various aspects of the conference such as event locations, layout of convention center, general conference information, and program details.

HEUG appreciates your willingness to help make Alliance 2017 a huge success, by honoring your shifts, showing up on time, and helping the conference to be best it can be for all attendees.
