I have worked in Higher Education for the past 20 years. The first 11 years I was a College Level Mathematics Instructor, which taught me a great deal about how to help a person learn. Eventually I turned my career towards IT and for the past 9 years have been supporting two different Student Information Systems. My most recent, and relevant, experience has been supporting various PeopleSoft CS related functional employees and systems at Clarkson University in Northern New York state. I work with a lot of great people from various departments primarily supporting PeopleSoft CS modules from Student Records, Financial Aid, Student Financials, Admissions and Recruiting, Campus Community, Academic Advisement, Curriculum Management, and many things technically related to PeopleSoft.
I am a technical developer, but I highly enjoy learning about, setting up, troubleshooting, testing and working with our functional users on "new" delivered functionality, especially when the functionality has the potential for replacing institutional modifications or customizations. Possessing a technical background has given me some advantages related to learning about processes within PeopleSoft that our institution has never used, by having the means to investigate aspects about the process that may not be documented or easily understood.
